Cookie Policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how PingHoot uses cookies and similar technologies.

PingHoot is a NeoOrbit project. NeoOrbit is a trading name of Clear Solutions Online Ltd.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that websites can store on your device when you visit them.

They can be used to make a website work, remember your preferences, understand how the website is being used and measure the effectiveness of advertising.

Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and browser storage, may perform similar functions. We refer to these collectively as "cookies" in this policy.

2. How we use cookies

With Statistics consent, we use the existing PHP/Laravel session cookie to count your session once rather than count every page load. A counted flag is held in the server-side session. The statistics record contains only the event type and UTC date and time, with no session identifier, IP address or account details. We also record cookie banner clicks with their date and time, without linking those actions to your session or account. These counts cover all dates recorded by the new counter. You can stop session statistics by switching Statistics off in cookie settings. We remember your cookie preferences in this browser so we can respect your choice.

We may use the following types of cookies:

Essential cookies

These are needed for PingHoot to work properly.

They may be used for things such as:

  • keeping you signed in;
  • maintaining the security of your account;
  • remembering important settings;
  • processing actions you request; and
  • remembering your cookie preferences.

Essential cookies cannot normally be disabled through our cookie settings because the service may not function correctly without them.

Statistics cookies

We use analytics to understand how people use PingHoot.

This can help us understand things such as which pages are visited, how visitors find us, how the website is used and where we can improve the service.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is only activated when you allow Statistics cookies.

Marketing cookies

We may use advertising and measurement technologies to understand whether our advertising is effective and whether an advert has resulted in a visit, signup or purchase.

These technologies may also be used by advertising platforms to measure campaigns or personalise advertising.

The LinkedIn Insight Tag and Meta (Facebook) Pixel are only activated when you allow Marketing cookies.

With Marketing consent, we also use session storage named pinghoot_signup_attribution to remember campaign labels, the referring domain and the public entry-page path (without query strings or fragments) from the first page seen after consent in the current tab. It expires after 24 hours or when the tab's session ends, and is cleared when Marketing consent is withdrawn. It contains no visitor identifier and is only submitted when you create an account.

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies and similar technologies may be provided by third-party services that we use for analytics, advertising and other functionality.

These third parties may receive information about your device and your use of PingHoot where their technologies are enabled.

We only enable these non-essential third-party technologies after you have allowed the relevant cookie category.

4. Your cookie choices

When you first visit PingHoot, you can choose which non-essential cookies to allow. Necessary cookies are always on. Deny allows only necessary cookies, Allow Selected saves the categories you have switched on, and Allow All enables both Statistics and Marketing cookies.

You can change your choices at any time using the cookie settings available on our website.

Turning a category off stops its tracking and reloads the page. We remove its cookies where accessible on our site; cookies held by third-party websites can be cleared through your browser settings.

You can also control or delete cookies through your web browser. Blocking some cookies may affect how PingHoot works.

5. How long cookies last

Some cookies are temporary and are removed when you close your browser.

Others remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on its purpose and the technology being used.

We remember your cookie choices in this browser for six months. After that, we ask you to choose again.

When you are signed in, we also save your latest Statistics and Marketing cookie choices and the time you made them against your account, including choices already saved in this browser when you sign up or sign in. This account record is separate from the anonymous statistics above. Cookie permissions continue to be controlled by each browser's settings; the account record does not enable cookies on other devices.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if the way we use cookies or similar technologies changes.

The latest version will always be available on our website.
